Judy Monckton

Judy Monckton lives in Poole, Dorset, close to the beach.  She has three children and four grandchildren.

Queen Elfrida’s Cockatrice is Judy Monckton’s first novel, “Writing this book came about by chance.  I inherited the first draft of the original manuscript and was inspired to rewrite it myself.  It was a huge but ultimately rewarding task.”  The original manuscript was written by Vincent Godefroy some years ago and has now been completely rewritten for the modern reader.

Judy Monckton has written some short stories and has been a prize winner at the Winchester Writing Conference twice.  Future writing projects include ‘The Scarab Beetle’, an introduction to Eqyptian mythology for 8-11 year olds, an illustrated storybook for 4-6 year olds and Commodus – The Age of Rust.
